30!! Yikes!!! what a scary number!!! Turning 30 can be very challenging.
Turning thirty can be very scary. When my bro turned thirty I told him that we needed to petition for them to add another number between thirty and forty. It just doesn’t make sense that you will go from being in your late 20’s to almost being 40 almost instantly. It just doesn’t make sense…
One minute you’re enjoying yourself with your girls, next minute all your “girls” are planning and looking forward to retirement… what happened?!!
Okay so maybe I’m exaggerating a little bit, and perhaps turning 30 is not as scary for a woman as turning 40 (yikes!) or turning 50 (super yikes!!!!!). But 30 still remains a pretty scary number for young ladies. It’s the first time that your age could become a negative number. You’re used to wanting so badly to be 18 or 21 so you can be seen as mature and grown up, but by the time many young ladies get to 30, they wish they could go back. And of course it doesn’t help if you’re still single or if you’re contemplating breaking up with the one you’re with.
Well in as much as 30 is a scary number, and in as much as turning 30 reminds you that you’re not going to be young forever (I mean who is?), don’t let your age make your decisions. Because as time goes by your priorities will change. It won’t be so important to have just any man, since every day you’re wishing you could get rid of the man you’re with. It won’t be so important for you to be married, since everyday you would be wishing you weren’t married yet since you’re miserable in your marriage, and you’re wishing you could give that nice young man a chance.
Now if you were turning 40 or 50 I would say, grab anything that looks like a man and get married immediately… JOKE! JUST JOKING, NEVER MARRY OUT OF DESPERATION!
Now remember you survived turning 1, and the challenges of learning to walk and feed yourself, you survived 5 and the challenges of starting real school, you survived 13 and the challenges of growing bossoms, pimples, and dealing with your monthly visitor, you survived teenage hormones, getting into a professional industry etc…
You are more than a conqueror! You can do this!
So take a deep breath, relaxe, and remember the wise words by that oh so brilliant scholar: Age ain’t nothing but a number.
