Whom are you punishing?

Posted on July 26, 2012July 21, 2012

When someone does something you disagree with, you delete them on Facebook. When someone mentions the name of that person that hurt you, you cringe, and get angry. When someone disagrees with you, you no longer talk to them… seriously whom are you punishing?

You say you’re a Christian and you love them, but yet you can’t stand them. No one says you have to hug them and sing kumbayah…or something. No one says you have to trust them with your money, since they stole from you… But when whenever you see them you start twitching, and whenever someone mentions their name you throw up a little bit in your mouth, and your vein starts popping.

Yeah you love them alright…you really love them. So whom do you think you are punishing by withholding yourself from them? Whom do you think is suffering when you treat them as if they were dead. Do you not know, have you not heard, this life is not about the final destination, but about whom we are becoming in the process…

You say you love God, but you don’t love his people. You say you love his people, but as soon as they do something you don’t like, you disappear. You say you’re committed, but as soon as it’s inconvenient you find an excuse.

so seriously…whom do you think you are punishing?
