“Babe”

For some reason when I hear the word “Babe” my ears perk up…

I once gave a guy my number and the very first time he called, and left a message on my phone he called me “babe”…he later caught himself and apologized, but it left me wondering whether he was just desperate for someone to call “babe.”

There was another situation where I left a comment on facebook, and someone referred to me as “babe.” It was a cultural slang, I understood that, but I felt there was something demeaning about it. If it had been a guy instead of a lady that left the comment, would they have referred to him as “stud-muffin?” LOL…

Yes, I corrected him, and yes he had different excuses as to why “babe” was appropriate since even Jesus used it in the Bible. I guess he didn’t realize that Jesus only used “babe” as a reference to children, and not to women…but I digress…

There are times when it’s okay to let things go…but there are times when we must define ourselves no matter how much others try to re-define us…

So what do you think about the word “babe?” Are there other words that make your ears perk up? (like sexy, or hot)
