sometimes it seems like your standards are keeping you away from what you want, when actually they’re magnetizing you to everything you truly need.

Is there anything (outside of breakups) worse than seeing people succeed even though they don’t have any ethical or moral standards?
It’s even worse when you set up a standard of purity, and then things don’t work out between you and that person because of your standard, and then not that long later you find out that not only did they move in with someone shortly after you broke up, but they ended up getting married within the year. So you reason with yourself that well perhaps maybe things could have worked out between the two of you if not for your “stupid” standards. Perhaps maybe it would have been okay to relax your standards since you would have been married within the year anyway…
You know what the Bible says:
Do not fret because of evildoers
or be envious of the wicked (Proverbs 24:19)Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. (Psalm 37:4-6)
So don’t worry about what others do, and what happens with them. Focus on what God has told you to do…after all you only need one man…the right man…and having standards means that you don’t have to deal with the unnecessary heartache that the riffraff bring with them.
