So I finally read the 5 love languages (By Dr. Gary Chapman), even though I’ve had the book for a while now… and boy that book is so good.
I always thought my main love language was words of affirmation, but now I realize that my main love language is quality time. I enjoy spending time with people I care about. When I don’t spend time with them, even if it’s just over the phone, I feel disconnected from them.
I’m also learning that different people have different love languages, and sometimes during different seasons there may be one that speaks more to people than others. For example I think right now my mom’s love language is acts of service, just because there is always so much to do in the house.
The 5 different love languages are:
- gifts
- Acts of service
- Words of affirmation
- quality time
- Touch
Find out what your friends’ main love languages are and instead of waiting to feel loved, think of expressing love to them. Having a healthy friendship is the best way to make any relationship work.
So what is your love language? I would like to hear from you: Talk to me.
