Chai! would you believe I still think in dollars? every time someone tells me that something costs 200,000 I am like ahn ahn wetin… money dey grow for tree? but N200,000 is only about $1,500… it’s a lot of money, but not hundreds of thousands…
Sometimes I overestimate, other times I underestimate…
The other day a girl was telling me about her beautiful handmade leather purses, and she said it was N50,000! ahh please I want one… I told her… it wasn’t until I went home and did my calculations to realize that I would have to use all the money that I’ve been saving for my coach purse to buy her bag that my heart started palpitating… chai! abeg! I not fit oh!
It’s crazy in Nigeria, some people are starving, and some people are carrying around $300 purses… e go better oh… but in the mean time you need to carry plenty money because well… most people don’t accept credit cards, and you never know when you’ll need some money…
Anyway, I’m learning…
