I can remember vividly, a time not too long ago when I read only pink books because I felt that the authors of pink books were the only ones who could really give me what I needed during that stage in life – and Carolyn Larsen, author of For Girls Only Devotions, has not disappointed me with this boldly pink book.
When Tyndale House Publishers provided me with a complimentary copy of this book to review I was immediately drawn to the attractive book cover with the creative illustrations, and diverse characters. And when I opened the book, i realized that I was in for a yummy nutrition-filled, and scripturally-sound book.
This book of devotions is practical, yet interesting, with applicable stories like “Sticks and Stones”, where we learn how words really can be hurtful. Of course one cannot forget the mini quizzes, which helps the tween to analyze her actions and attitudes that are not quite right, or the mini-action plans that quickly moves the tween from a place of conviction, to a place of repentance.
Each devotion is packed with applicable life lessons in bite-size portions that tween girls will gladly guzzle down.
