On facebook everyone is happy and has a perfect life…except you.

A friend of mine once told be about a couple on facebook who always had the most amazing pictures and there were always comments about how in love they were and how glad they were to be together and how they completed each other and how the sun looks so much dimmer because they bask in the light that radiates from their love…(okay maybe they did not say the last part…but you know…)
My friend was envious of the relationship and was a little discontented because she couldn’t understand why she didn’t have that kind of amazing relationship, and then one day they found out that the guy had been abusing her, and had put her in the hospital multiple times. He was using facebook to talk to other women and talk about how he no longer loved her but wanted to be with other women…and well things weren’t as rosy as they seemed…
Sometimes we look at pictures of people on facebook, and read about their adventures and feel discontented about our boring lives. We feel bad because everyone else seems to be happily coupled up, or engaged, or married, or just plain cheesily happy…while here you are sitting in your quiet apartment by yourself watching “Sound of Music” for the 15th Friday in a row…and did I mention…by yourself?
Well the truth is, you never know what is truly going on in people’s lives. Their grass may seem greener, but trust me it’s not.
